The finals of the 2001 UCI Trials World Cup was held in the town of Bülach, just outside Zürich. The top 20 riders were invited to compete not only for the final race but also for the overall World Cup title. The competition was held in the Stadthalle in Bülach, together with a lot of festivities for younger spectators, creating a great atmosphere.
20" Class: Being true to his rainbow jersey, the current Junior World Champion - Kenny Belay (BEL) showed everyone that he is one of the best on a 20" bike. The organizer had done their best to create spectacular and difficult sections with everything from.
The final where all about two riders, Belay and Marco Hösel (GER). Hösel scored only one penalty point, but that was enough for Belay to capture the number one spot. Peter Bartak (SVK) ended up with 5 points and finished up the podium.

Bruno Arnold tops the obstacle at Bülach 2001
26" Class: In the mountain bike class, the French riders showed no mercy. It was all about Bruno Arnold (winner of last World Cup) and Marc Caisso (current World Champion).
The young junior World Champion, Vincent Hermance also showed that he could compete against the best elite riders. Marc Caisso was on fire this weekend, scoring an amazing zero points (no penalties) in the final. Bruno Arnold did a great race but couldn't match Caisso and ended up 2nd with 3 points. Hermance ended up with 13 points and 3rd place.
The overall World Cup winner in the 20" inch class was Kenny Belay with the maximum total of 250 points, winning both World Cup events. In the 26" class Marc Caisso (FRA) captured the World Cup trophy, going into a tie-breaker (winner of the WC-finals) with Bruno Arnold.
